Previews for the auction are Monday November 18th through Sunday November 24th From 9am-5pm in Norwalk. Pickups for this sale will be Monday November 25th through Friday December 6th 9am-5pm weekdays only. WE ARE CLOSED THANKSGIVING DAY We are not open at the Norwalk Gallery on the weekends for pickup. Large limestone with deeply sunk hieroglyphs with the name of Ramesses the 3rd, dates to 1198-1166 BC. Dimensions: (Limestone) H 10.5" x W 17.5" x D 1.5" Condition: Some surface marks, otherwise good. Provenance: Collection of Stephenson, Greenwich, CT. Acquired from Charles Ede, October 1986. In catalog of Writing and Lettering in Antiquity, entry no. 17.
