Description

VIRGINIA POPLAR PUNCHED-TIN-PANELED FOOD / PIE SAFE, rectangular top with applied molding above two hinged doors concealing two interior shelves, raised on well-turned feet, twelve tins bearing folky spread-wing eagle design. Retains an old refinished surface with mellow color. Probably Greenbrier Co., VA (now West Virginia). First half 19th century.
