Description

GROUP OF THREE AMERICAN SEWING / WAIST POCKETS, each of pieced construction, fitted with drawstring, center example bearing "H H" initials and the right-hand example retaining an old associated note which reads "Cousin Betsy Sherman gave / me this pocket. It was probably / made and worn by / her mother, Marcy (Easterbrooke) / Cole, who died in 1837". Now conservation mounted together in a contemporary frame. Late 18th/first half 19th century.
